Ṣalāt al-Istikhārah occupies a central place in the life of every Muslim, for the servant is constantly in need of Allah’s guidance in all affairs. Its significance is reflected in the statement of Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh ( who said that the Prophet ( used to teach the duʿāʾ of Istikhārah with the same care and emphasis as he taught a sūrah from the Qurʾān.
